Jose Anthony Pagan
Jose Anthony Pagan grew up in the Bronx amidst poverty and family dysfunction. He joined the Army Reserve in 2005 and saved dozens of people trapped in their homes after Hurricane Katrina. He served two years in a bomb-detonation unit in Iraq. After completing his duty, he returned to the Bronx, experienced post-traumatic stress and found himself homeless. With the aid of Robin Hood, Jericho Project helped Jose move into his first apartment. He feels he is finally ready to start over. His goal is to pursue a degree in criminal justice.
Jericho Project offers transitional housing to homeless residents in Harlem and the Bronx. Recently, Jericho expanded its offerings to homeless veterans and their families. In 2011 they will open two facilities to address the needs of the ever-increasing veteran population.
