April 8, 2010 New York
Message from Lindsay Carroll, Robin Hood staff member and marathoner.
I work for the Robin Hood events team and ran the ING New York City Marathon in 2008 and 2009. I can tell you from experience that there is nothing like it. In case you need some convincing, a few of last year’s runners put together a quick list that we think will do the job.
10 Reasons to join Team Robin Hood to run the ING New York City Marathon 2010:
- You are a good person who wants to give back to New York City.
- You didn't get a spot via the lottery.
- Team Robin Hood weekly tips and training runs with Coach Scott in Central Park – we’ll even watch your bags while you train!
- Last year, you saw our rockin' Mile 20 Block Party and you want in.
- Private Robin Hood buses to the marathon start where you'll prepare for the race in our VIP team tent complete with facilities.
- Because Robin Hood's board covers all operating expenses, 100 percent of every dollar you raise goes to more than 200 of the most effective poverty-fighting organizations.
- Free weekly training sessions at Flywheel Sports, the first indoor cycling studio created by athletes, for athletes. (Because cross-training makes you stronger!)
- Your company is looking for the ultimate team-building exercise.
- You'll get to know people as passionate about Robin Hood as this guy at events like the team kick-off and pre-race dinner.
- Because children like William will get a first class education and go to college, thanks to you.
Join the team. Make a difference on November 7. Please contact me if you have any questions or check out more details on the Team Robin Hood page.
Sincerely,
Lindsay Carroll
