Announcement

Giants' running back Tiki Barber opened the NASDAQ market on behalf of Robin Hood on Monday, December 12. In his remarks before the market's opening bell, Tiki spoke passionately about the depth of poverty in New York City, citing that "the Bronx is the poorest urban county in the nation." He also referenced a recent New York Times article which stated that charitable giving to social causes is at a record low despite the growing need.

"Last year contributions to organizations that help the poor counted for less than 10% of the $248 billion dollars donated by Americans to charity," Tiki remarked. "This holiday season, please consider giving to Robin Hood. And if you're not in New York City, find the best local organization helping families that are struggling to survive."

Tiki Barber is a member of Robin Hood's leadership council, a group of individuals who work closely with Robin Hood board and staff to help fight poverty in New York City. "I joined Robin Hood's leadership council because I believe no organization is more effective at preventing poverty in New York City," Tiki said in his remarks. "Robin Hood is about finding solutions, not just band-aids, for our toughest problems."
