After Hours Project, Inc.
A caring resource for injection drug users, sex workers, homeless people and others, After Hours provides clean syringes and a variety of additional services, including harm-reduction education, case management and referrals for health care and drug treatment. On the border of the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Bushwick neighborhoods, their storefront site is conveniently located on a commercial strip and offers drop-in syringe exchange and H.I.V. testing five days a week.
Further, in order to reach more individuals at risk, A.H.P. conducts late night outreach “after hours” from their mobile van. If an individual expresses interest in entering detoxification or drug treatment, staff phones service providers right on the spot and drive the person to the program.
