The diverse program staff, one of the largest mental health counseling teams in Queens, speaks more than 30 languages (including Bengali, Farsi, Urdu and Vietnamese) and provides services to more than 10,000 children each year.

The Child Center of New York

Formerly known as the Queens Child Guidance Center, this organization offers mental health and related services, including a parent-education program to reduce child abuse and neglect. The staff teaches parenting skills, treats maternal depression and isolation, helps women in domestic violence situations find safety and helps immigrant families navigate the bureaucracy involved in accessing health insurance and food stamps for their children.

In 2006, the center opened high-quality program space in Flushing with major support from Robin Hood's Capital Grant Initiative.
