The John F. Kennedy, Jr. Hero Award

1999 Hero

In 1999, the Robin Hood Hero Award was renamed the John F. Kennedy, Jr. Hero Award in memory of Robin Hood Board Member, John F. Kennedy, Jr.

As a passionate and dedicated member of Robin Hood's Board of Directors for eight years, John Kennedy was instrumental in fighting poverty in New York. John's sister Caroline accepted a tribute in John's honor at the 1999 Hero Awards. Thousands of lives were saved and transformed as a result of John's leadership and compassion. Robin Hood will continue to be inspired by John's example, and will honor his memory by furthering his work on behalf of the impoverished in New York City.
