Description The Associate, Research is part of the Development Department and reports to the Director, Research & Analytics. The main function of this position is to help ensure that the organization targets the best prospects and donors needed to reach its annual fundraising goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Populate and maintain accurate donor information in Raiser’s Edge for assigned prospects, including current contact information, business titles, biographies, executive changes, relevant news articles, relationships, etc. Act as initial research point of contact for all queries relating to outdated donor contact information.
- Research, input and maintain detailed wealth & charitable giving information for identified prospects and current donors to Robin Hood for review by research analysts as part of the rating process.
- Review and identify unassigned $10k+ donors to screen for biographical information and wealth indicators, including family foundation assets, real estate holdings and demonstrated giving to other charitable organizations.
- Monitor daily listings of executive changes to identify Robin Hood donors who have changed their place of business.
- Produce research for key attendees at donor events such as the annual benefit, Lemonaid, Sotheby’s dinners and the Heroes Breakfast.
- Participate in the creation and detailed documentation of research best practices, including updating documentation as processes are added, changed or modified.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and one or more years of professional work experience.
- Strong computer skills, including experience querying databases and advanced Excel.
- Tact, good ethical judgment and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Innovative and intensely curious problem solver, with strong analytical skills.
- Self driven and well organized, with high standards for self and others.
- Detail oriented, with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
