Seeking a Senior Developer to assist in building a high quality, extensible, and scalable codebase.
Qualified candidates will have at least 3-4 years of industry experience managing web and interactive media development projects. Knowledge of PHP, PERL, HTML, Javascript, MySQL, etc. are desired, as is any general experience with a wide range of web development technologies and frameworks. Previous industry experience in Digital Media, Web Development/Design, or Interactive Media is ideal. Will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Developer will gather and analyze requirements, manage entire projects life cycle, including but not limited to, designing, documenting, scheduling, and allocating resources.
The individual will work primarily with the SugarCRM team to implement and manage the development and integration of the CRM solution and other organizational applications as necessary.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the ability to configure and customize SugarCRM and to deliver outstanding customer service. Responds to new feature requests maintaining key systems in accordance with long-range software development roadmaps under strict revision control. Assists with maintenance of several large networks of GNU/Linux-based application and database. Develops servers based on open-source software. Must have high regard for quality and ability to propose innovative solutions based on available resources and business requirements.
Requirements
- 3-4 years of work experience in a fast paced results driven environment. Previous experience in a non-profit setting desired.
- Previous industry experience in Digital Media, Web Development / Design, or Interactive Media is ideal
- Object-oriented design (OOD) experience
- Software debugging
- Superior time management skills
- Experience in documenting software and systems
Technical Skills
- Experience in developing applications using SugarCRM preferable, but will consider strong PHP candidates
- Writing SugarCRM Modules preferable but not required
Knowledge of Middle ware/Messaging Systems
- Experience with Java, C++.Net would be an advantage
- Integrating SugarCRM with other Applications
- Strong Database Skills (MySQL / SQL) including SQL commands
- AJAX (JQuery / YUI / EXTJS / Prototype)
- Linux
- XML / XLST business
Education Requirements
- 4-year college degree or equivalent
- Demonstrate evidence of keeping abreast of industry developments, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks
Additional Qualifications
- Strong business analytical skills including understanding of business requirements and tools
- Exposure to the various stages of application lifecycle development
- MySQL Certified Developer
- Debugging skills
- Outstanding customer service, influencing and project management skills
- Strong attention to detail and result driven
- Ability to work unaided and as part of a team
- Ability to turn-around Prototypes very quickly.
- Strong desire to fight poverty
Salary
Commensurate with experience. This is position is offered on a consulting basis with the potential to become permanent
