New York, NY—Robin Hood is pleased to announce the election of two new members to its board of directors: Laura Arnold, co-chair of the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, and Philippe Laffont, founder and chief executive officer of Coatue Management.

“We are delighted to formally welcome Laura and Philippe to Robin Hood,” said Barry Sternlicht, chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group and chairman of Robin Hood’s board of directors. “Laura’s experience leading the Laura and John Arnold Foundation which strives to produce substantial, widespread and lasting changes to society makes her an outstanding addition to our board.”

Mr. Sternlicht continued, “Philippe has become more involved with Robin Hood over the past few years, as both a member of the Robin Hood Prize Advisory Board and as one of the leaders behind last November’s Robin Hood Investors Conference which raised more than $5.7 million in its inaugural year. Both Laura’s and Philippe’s expertise and dedication will help Robin Hood to continue to find increasingly innovative ways to fight poverty.”

In addition, board member Steve Cohen, chairman and CEO of Point72 Asset Management, announced he is stepping down and will now serve on the Robin Hood Emeritus Board.

“On behalf of all of us at Robin Hood, I’d like to express our gratitude to Steve for his decade of service, particularly with his work on behalf of veterans,” said Mr. Sternlicht. “His leadership as co-chairman of the Robin Hood Veterans Advisory Board raised awareness of the unprecedented challenges faced by veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, and in turn, helped Robin Hood create and support the most effective organizations to help these men and women—and their families—get the help they need and so richly deserve.”
