In the United States, 34% of children entering kindergarten lack the basic language skills needed to learn how to read. Most of these students come from low-income households.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking individuals and teams who either have or want to develop scalable, low-cost interventions that help 3- to 4-year-olds develop improved language skills.
The Prize will award successful interventions, such as smartphone or desktop apps and web-based tools. Interventions are expected to supplement peer-to-peer interaction, existing prekindergarten curricula and other educational services.
