Bring Lemonaid to Your Community this Summer

Since 2004, Robin Hood families and children have been raising funds by opening lemonade stands across the NYC tri-state area. It’s a wonderful introduction to the importance of caring for our neighbors and demonstrates the difference that even young children can make to help others. Getting started is easy: Just request a Lemonaid kit from Robin Hood, grab your family, and set up your stand on a sunny day. Start here!

Partnering with NYC Public Schools to Ensure Every Child Learns to Read

Two in three Black and Latinx students in NYC public schools cannot read proficiently. Last month, Mayor Adams and NYC Public Schools Chancellor Banks announced NYC Reads, a $100M initiative to ensure all 365,000 K-5 students in NYC learn to read using evidence-backed curricula taught by well trained and supported teachers and coupled with effective uses of technology. Robin Hood’s sustained investments in literacy and the targeted funding of our Learning + Technology Fund seeded critical school demonstrations and research that helped shape and propel this initiative. Now, NYC’s 32 school districts are on the precipice of adopting and implementing new literacy curricula; a bold move that may prove to be one of the most consequential changes in the city’s public education system in decades. Learn about the Robin Hood Learning + Technology Fund.
