Robin Hood’s mission is to improve the living standards for 1.8 million low-income New Yorkers.
As New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization, we develop and fund over 200 of the most effective schools, food pantries, homeless shelters, job training centers, health facilities, legal clinics, and more – programs that show real results.
Many of them are aimed at giving New York’s neediest the tools necessary to improve their well-being.
BECAUSE OUR BOARD COVERS 100% OF ALL ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS,
EVERY DOLLAR YOU DONATE GOES TO ORGANIZATIONS HELPING NEW YORKERS IN NEED.
Each year, we reduce barriers to opportunities for nearly half a million New Yorkers. From keeping more than 200,000 New Yorkers from going hungry, to helping more than 10,000 of our neighbors secure jobs to helping nearly 11,000 remain stably housed and off the streets, Robin Hood is there for our neighbors.
While Robin Hood’s primary focus is on New York, our impact extends far beyond the borders of our city. Our pioneering, metrics-based approach has become the gold standard for charities around the nation. The programs we fund are often the first of their kind, and serve as demonstration models to identify what works before being replicated in other cities.

Be Rigorous with our Investments
Our system of metrics used to evaluate every program we fund, shows an average 12:1 return on our investments: for every dollar spent, we effectively raise the living standards for low-income New Yorkers by $12.
Build stronger organizations
We provide grantees with assistance in management, real estate, marketing, board placement – whatever we can do to enable their success.
